Effective date: July 2026

TripPoint Note ("the App") respects and protects your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles information related to you.

1. We do not collect your personally identifiable information

The App has no account system and no developer-operated server. We do not collect, upload, or sell any of your personally identifiable data to our servers. The App contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Apple (the App Store), and we do not collect or store your payment information (such as card numbers). The only exception is the anonymous verification data described in Section 7, used to prevent subscription abuse.

2. Where your data is stored

Your trips, annotated points, checklists, schedules, photos, videos, expenses, and similar data are by default stored only locally on your device (in the App's sandboxed database and files).

If you enable "iCloud Backup" in Settings, this data is uploaded as a snapshot to your own iCloud account, encrypted and stored by Apple, and inaccessible to the developer. You can turn off backup at any time or delete the backup from iCloud.

3. Location

The App reads your device location while you use it, to show your current position on the map, annotate points, and record trips. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to the developer.

4. Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Calendar

The camera and photo library are used to capture or select photos and videos within a trip; the microphone is used for voice search of places. Such media is stored locally on your device (and in the iCloud backup you choose to enable). If you use the "Export to Calendar" feature, the App only writes trip events to the system calendar and never reads any content from your calendar.

5. Speech recognition

Voice search uses Apple's speech recognition service. Your voice audio may be sent to Apple for transcription, solely to convert speech into search text. This processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Maps and place search

The App uses Apple Maps (MapKit). Your place-search requests are processed by Apple and are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Subscription verification and anti-fraud data

If you purchase a Pro subscription, to prevent the subscription from being resold or abused, the App stores one verification record in Apple's CloudKit public database. It contains only: a hashed (one-way encrypted) anonymous device identifier, a subscription identifier, and an activity date, used to limit the number of devices that can use the same subscription at once. This data contains no name, email, Apple ID, or any other personally identifiable information; it is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking or advertising, and is used solely for app functionality (fraud prevention). After you stop using the App, the record automatically expires after a period of time.

8. Your rights

You can view, edit, export, or delete your data within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes local data on the device; if you enabled iCloud Backup, delete it separately from iCloud.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Updates

Any updates to this policy will be posted within the App.
